Many secluded coves and beaches in the Ionian islands face the persistent issue of accumulating plastic waste and debris, driven by ocean currents and weather patterns. While we recognize that the key to combating ocean pollution is preventing waste entry, there is still much progress to be made in instilling awareness and implementing effective waste prevention and disposal programs. At this pivotal moment, we acknowledge the profound negative impact of plastic and rubbish pollution on marine life and our planet, and we are determined to be catalysts for change. Our mission is to raise awareness and educate the residents and visitors of Lefkada about the crucial importance of proper plastic and rubbish management.
